Welcome back Spudkins to another fury-fueled drag session.
This month we are discussing a shoe which showcases the epitome of “commitment issues” and how this shoe might be a clear representative of our own faith lives.

Kitten heels, kitty heels…I like to call them “kiddy” heels because the only women wearing these should be under the age of five. If you were to wear these heels to work someone is bound to ask you where your mother is. What an odious task your unfortunate coworker now has to help you find her and inform her that it is not a “bring your kids to work” day.
I said it once and I’ll say it again, it would be excusable to wear an ugly thing if its functionality were to out-weigh its ugliness, alas, these shoes do just about as much for you as a stick of celery and a gulp of water after a five-hour hike. A large motivation for wearing heels is the extra definition given to your calves and the added height-boost. And yet, with these shoes, your calves are still flapping in the wind and you’ve only grown two-sevenths of an inch.

We live in an age where any question can be answered by a voice-activated robot-slave. An age of self-driving cars and virtual reality glasses and the best the shoe-community can do is go into their kitchen cupboard, grab their last toothpicks and glue them to the bottom of their grandmother’s flats…and can you believe they have the absolute audacity to call them heels. These “toothpick” shoes are in the middle of an identity crisis and simply cannot commit…not quite heels…not quite flats. I would say the money-waste equivalent would be purchasing the add-on wire for your “wire-less ear pods,” the oxymoron of the 21st century.
How often do we find ourselves to be the kitten-heel tantamount of a “faithful” Catholic? Not sure whether to indulge in the secular world or be labeled as that “weird Jesus freak.” This is a problem which most people encounter in the ever-growing secular world which we live in. Canon 781 states: “Since the whole Church is by its nature missionary and the work of evangelization must be held as a fundamental duty of the people of God, all the Christian faithful, conscience of their responsibility, are to assume their part in missionary work.” Therefore, we are called not only to practice our faith with zeal, but to share it with others. Our lives should so-reflect the face of Christ that our words and actions lead others to Him, thus fulfilling the Great Commission which Christ calls all His faithful to “Go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19).”
If someone were to say that they have obtained the Truth, the natural inclination is to share that Truth…how much disregard would you have for another to not share with them the knowledge and wisdom of the Truth you know? If we believe that the Catholic Church holds the fullness of the Truth, than we have an obligation, for the love of the other, to share it. Much like the obligation this blog has to inform you of the horrendous depravity of high fashion shoes (i.e. kitten heels).
The faith leaves no room to be a kitten shoe, you are either a heel or a flat.

To be a heal or a flat. That is the question. Hamlet said this contemplating suicide. I guess the people who wear these must hate life too if they are willing to put up with the pain of heals with no benefit
